When not working, Dr. Greenfield enjoys cooking (and eating!), outdoor activities and mostly, spending quality time with her favorite people and her dogs.

Dr. Anna-Marie Struble – Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Anna-Marie Struble is happy to be starting a second career as a mixed animal veterinarian with Alpena Veterinary Clinic. Before returning to Michigan for vet school, she was a microbiologist at a sterile drug production facility in Ohio who always dreamt of working with animals. She graduates with Fear Free Certification, Medical Acupuncture for Veterinarians (CuraCore) certification, and training in dentistry, CPR, business, and diversity. Her special interests are in behavior, dentistry, soft tissue surgery and wounds, dermatology, and pain management. She is looking forward to the diversity of species and cases a mixed animal practice brings! In her free time, she enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, crafting and sewing, hiking, and spending time with her geologist husband Alex, Husky-mix dog Leif, and dog-like cat Tomas.

Jessica Campbell – Licensed Veterinary Technician

Jess graduated from the Michigan State University Veterinary Technology program in 2010 and has been with us since that time. Growing up on a farm and being surrounded by numerous types of animals during her childhood made the decision to be a veterinary technician an easy one. She enjoys being outdoors, riding horses, crafting, and creating things. She has a Clydesdale (Thea), Dog (Ruger), and Cat (Jade). Although she also loves chickens- currently the coop is empty, but hopefully not forever!

Katie Miltz – Reception

Katie is our talented front desk receptionist. She grew up in Sault Ste. Marie (which makes her a Yooper!). In her spare time, she loves playing with her children and spending time with friends. She loves anything outside, whether it’s gardening, camping, bike riding or even just mowing the lawn! She also loves cows and helping her family on their little farm in Black River. Katie has a huge heart and we are so fortunate to have her with us.

Julie Bush – Veterinary Assistant

Julie, one of our kennel assistants, comes to us from Boyne City. A former groomer, she’s completely at ease around all animals and has two cats, three dogs, a lizard and a rat at home. She loves camping and helping animals feel better. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a sick animal leave the clinic healthy. Thank you for being a part of our team and AVC family, Julie!

Bekki Smith- Veterinary Assistant

Bekki is one of our vet assistants here in the clinic. Bekki loves working with the small animals here in the clinic. When she’s not here, she enjoys her small and large animals at home. In her free time Bekki can be found horseback riding, kayaking, paddle boarding and jogging. Bekki has such a gentle personality and has been a great addition to our team!

Cheyenne Koslakiewicz – Receptionist

Cheyenne grew up in neighboring Rogers City. She has a background in the financial world and a degree in Business Administration. Cheyenne and her husband recently moved to the Hillman area with their two dogs, two cats, and turtle! She enjoys camping, hiking, and sitting next to the fire with a good book. Her favorite part of working with Alpena Veterinary Clinic is interacting with animals of all shapes, sizes, and species!

Kimberly Simmons – Veterinary Assistant

Kimberly grew up in Onsted Michigan on a small family farm. She was involved in 4-H, FFA, and showing Belgian draft horses. After high school, she moved to Alaska to attend the University of Alaska, Anchorage. While getting her degree Kimberly spent her time dancing with the UAA Dance Ensemble, hiking, fishing, and hunting. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Biology, she got married and moved back to Michigan with her Husband Andrew and their two cats, Willow and Maple. Kimberly enjoys crafting, spending time outside, traveling, and hanging out with her family in her free time.

Samantha Pontbriand – Kennel Assistant

Samantha is originally from Metamora, MI. She earned a degree in Orthotic/Prosthetic Technology and worked in Madison Heights for a few years before moving to Alpena. In her spare time, she loves hiking, kayaking, going on road trips, crafting, and snuggling with her two dogs, Nina and Bandit.

Thompson Hein – Client Services Representative

Tom is an Alpena native. He and his black Labrador, Lilly frequent the many state parks and public recreation areas that dot our beautiful state. Be it on the water, on the beach, or in the woods he enjoys getting out and moving alongside his companion. When not at the clinic or in the outdoors Tom can be found participating in recreational team sports, or at the gym. Tom has been around animals, big and small, from the time he was young, and is happy to facilitate the needs of our clients and their four-legged/furry friends!

Molly MacArthur – Veterinary Assistant

Molly was born and raised on her family’s farm in Lachine. From a young age, she had a passion for all farm animals, however, horses quickly became her favorite. Nowadays Molly enjoys competing in speed events (mainly barrel racing) on her palomino quarter horse, Nacho. She also loves exploring northern Michigan trails on horseback.

Molly also enjoys raising and showing swine & cattle through 4H at the local county fair. When she’s not out in the barn with her animals or on the back of a horse you’ll find her spending time with her family & friends.

She recently graduated high school and is looking into pursuing a career in veterinary medicine. She loves that her job at the clinic is providing great insight into some of those possibilities!

Pipsqueak

Pipsqueak likes to think of herself as our team leader. She’s a gal of many jobs. She loves to roam the clinic and oversee the daily activities. She considers herself to be the glue that hold the team together, and we would all have to agree. It’s impossible to feel blue when there is always an ear that needs to be scratched. Since Pip has been here longer than any of us, we all get to learn a little something from her every day. Even if it’s just to take time and enjoy the sunshine.
