To help diagnose skin conditions, we use a variety of in-house diagnostic tools, including:
- Skin scrapings to check for mites and parasites
- Tape preps to evaluate yeast, bacteria, and surface inflammation
- Skin cultures to identify infections
- Bloodwork and additional testing when needed
We also stay current in this ever-evolving area of veterinary medicine. Each year, our team attends dermatology continuing education and professional meetings to learn about new diagnostic approaches and treatment options for skin disease. This helps us provide the most up-to-date care for our patients.
Once a diagnosis is made, we offer a range of treatment options tailored to your pet’s needs, which may include medications, medicated shampoos, allergy management strategies, and flea and tick prevention plans.
